The Dupont Underground, previously a 75,000 SF trolley station, closed in 1975. The Arts Coalition for the Dupont Underground (ACDU), a registered not-for-profit 501 (c)(3), is working to convert the abandoned property into a venue that will showcase DC art and culture. Patrick P. Smith, a development consultant for the project, hopes to use 16,000 SF of the underground space to develop a micro boutique hotel. Smith approached OPX with his design concept and OPX provided Smith with design consultation and renderings.
