Steve Polo, Partner
A recognized thought leader and frequent author, speaker and panelist, Steve leads OPX’s strategic and design direction. He has pioneered the firm’s development of its Integrated Operating Environment solution, infusing the offering with his visionary thinking on improving business performance through the integration of people, tools and place with business operations and strategy. Clients who have benefited from Steve’s expertise and guidance include Watson Wyatt Worldwide (now Towers Watson), Atlantic Media, WorldSpace, Hilton Worldwide, BAE Systems, ABC News, U.S. News & World Report, Sodexho, the City of Turku (Finland), the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and the National Science Foundation, among others. Steve is active in a variety of community and professional groups, including the Economic Club of Washington, Vistage, Association for Corporate Growth, World Futures Society and American Society for Quality. Edgar B. Corr, Principal
A key member of OPX since 1984, Ed has managed many of the firm’s broadcast and association projects, including those for such clients as ABC News, Fox Channel News, National Journal, the American Society for International Law, and the German Marshall Fund of the United States. He has worked on multiple base building and full-service interior design projects, ranging in size from 5,000 SF to 1 million SF. In addition to his design and architectural responsibilities, Ed also directs OPX’s operations, coordinating and managing OPX staff for proposals, staffing, project management, quality control and project closeout. He works with OPX internal capabilities to maintain cross functional collaboration and strategic planning. A registered architect, Ed’s experience includes client and partner relations, project planning, design, architectural implementation and construction administration for the design process.
Alistair Gellatly, Principal
Since joining OPX in 1998, Alistair has supervised multi-disciplinary teams, concentrating his efforts on the company’s extensive hospitality portfolio. Most notably, he served as Project Architect on the Hilton Washington Hotel renovation which involved over 1,100 guest rooms and 500,000 SF of public space. He also is responsible for the overall management of OPX’s information technology and technology integration.
Brian Henning, Partner
With OPX since its founding in 1983, Brian’s first and continuing priority is to lead the firm’s quality assurance team. The in-house QA system he developed generates technically accurate documentation while building the skills of OPX team members. Applying his exceptional technical understanding of engineering systems and construction, Brian works closely with OPX’s engineering consultants, as well as with contractors, to ensure that construction meets the design intent. As a result, Brian has provided technical leadership for nearly every project performed over the course of the firm’s history, ranging from large-scale base buildings to complex tenant spaces.
W. David Owen, Principal
Armed with a truly international design perspective, David Owen has extensive experience in all phases of architecture and interior design, documentation and administration for large-scale commercial office design, high profile hotels and public spaces. Prior to joining OPX in 1998, he worked on more than 50 U.S. Embassy projects around the globe, including in such world capitols as Moscow, Paris, Mumbai and Mogadishu. David has also completed numerous medical skilled-care and acute-care facilities nationwide, as well as projects for such industry leaders as Ritz-Carlton Hotels, The World Bank Group, Sodexo, Heidrick & Struggles, International Monetary Fund, Hilton Worldwide, and the National Science Foundation. In addition to his design duties, David manages OPX’s human resources function.
Kamran Riazi, Principal
From distinctive restaurants and exhibit spaces to corporate and consulate projects, Kamran brings more than 20 years of diverse design experience to his role at OPX. His flexibility has also made Kamran the ideal person to lead design efforts for some of the firm’s most notable clients in the defense and high-tech sectors, including BAE Systems, Tandberg North America and Lockheed Martin Corporation. Kamran brings an international focus to OPX’s outreach through projects in Dubai, Iran, England, Norway, Mexico and Canada. His international portfolio includes corporate renovations and additions of all sizes as well as unique restaurant spaces.
Teresa Skubel, Principal
When Teresa joined OPX in 1985, she focused on large, long-term architecture projects. She is well-known for her technical expertise and organizational skills, as well as exceptional abilities in team communications and project management. Since 2000, Teresa has managed the company’s overall administrative office operations. Under her supervision, OPX administrative operations have been evaluated, upgraded, and streamlined to more efficiently and accurately manage the production of projects. She is available to project teams as a resource for standard procedures, documentation, and team responsiveness. Kenneth Terzian, Principal
Ken brings more than 25 years of architectural and managerial experience, including comprehensive knowledge of environmental issues and sustainable design. Since joining OPX in 1999, he has managed some of the firm’s largest projects, including the renovation of the 1,110-plus-room Hilton Washington Hotel and the GSA Federal Office building, an agency’s LEED Silver headquarters. Ken’s architectural background includes green building strategies, document quality control, contract administration, and project management. His thoughtful and detailed approach has also informed projects in the government and defense sectors for such clients as the Department of the Navy and the Smithsonian Institution, helping to affect positive change at those organizations.
Tina Weich, Principal
An expert in strategic analysis and planning, Tina specializes in management, design and quality control for OPX’s legal and professional services clients, among others. With OPX since 1986, she possesses extensive experience preparing construction documents for interiors, building projects, and furniture procurement. Tina oversees all design and detailing aspects for several of OPX's largest corporate interiors projects. Clients who have benefited from Tina’s strategic thinking include Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, the American Petroleum Institute, Atlantic Media, the National Science Foundation and the Gannett Corporation. In addition to working on projects, Tina oversees OPX’s finance department.
